Podcast 56 - IM/IN Ped Dosing w/ Peter Antevy

Common Questions:

"I don't like using intra-nasal meds because they never seem to work."

"Is the IM dose of ketamine for a kid seriously the same as a dude freaking out on bath salt?"

"I can't seem to find the sweet spot for analgesic ketamine dosing."

"Why did you cut off all your hair?"

In this podcast Dr. Peter Antevy helps us answer these questions... well except for the last one.

"I don't like using intra-nasal meds because they never seem to work."

IN dosing is limited to 1ml per nare, and it requires 3 x the IV dose. Unless you are using crazy concentrations, this is probably not the best route in adults.

"Is the IM dose of ketamine for a kid seriously the same as a dude freaking out on bath salt?"

Yep. Children eat up ketamine extremely fast.

"I can't seem to find the sweet spot for analgesic ketamine dosing."
